Lectern after restoration
Floor-standing candlesticks after restoration
The lectern in the Chapel at Jesus College Cambridge was designed by Augustus Pugin, famous for his work on the Houses of Parliament. The chapel lectern and floor-standing candlesticks, had over time accumulated multiple layers of cleaning product residue, wax and active verdigris. In several localised areas a thin copper plate had formed. To resolve these respective issues the lectern and candlesticks were fully dismantled, enabling us to gain access to all of their surfaces and ensuring that there was no moisture trapped between the sections during the cleaning process.
